New: Smarter Links For Your Text Messages

There are so many good reasons to include links in your text messages like sending recipients to log in, learn more, purchase products, etc. But including links in your text messages isn’t as straightforward as including them in emails.

First, you can’t hyperlink words — like “click here” — in text messages. Including the full URL can take up a lot of space in your tiny text message. If you’re tempted to use commercial link shorteners, like bitly and tinyurl…just don’t! Those are used so often in phishing scams, they’re likely to trigger carriers’ spam filters and prevent your messages from being delivered.

RedChirp’s new Branded Link Shortener feature means there’s finally a way to include better-looking and higher-performing links — without the risk of being blocked as spam — in your text messages!

How it works:

Just create your text message naturally, including the full URL you want to send people to. RedChirp will automatically turn that full URL into a branded, shortened, and trackable link between when you click send and it delivers the message.

RedChirp Will Automatically Track Clicks!

Not only will your links be branded and shortened, but RedChirp will also automatically track if they have been clicked and how many times. Click tracking happens in real-time, displays under each message in your conversation, and even populates a new column in the recipient table of bulk messages with this information.

RedChirp is even smart enough to know if it was you, or your customer, that clicked the link. Feel free to click the branded and shortened links in your own messages; they will automatically not count as clicks.

Branded Link Shortening Works in Bulk Texts Too:

RedChirp can automatically brand and shorten links in your bulk text messages too. Every link in each recipient’s text message will have a slightly different ending, which will allow RedChirp to track which recipients clicked on it.

View clicks in the individual conversations, and in the new column of the recipient table:

Link shortening will be turned on by default whenever a link is present in your bulk message. But, if for any reason you don’t want to brand and shorten the URL(s) in your bulk message, you can turn that off or choose an additional branded link shortener that you’ve created but is not set as your default.

Turning Branded Link Shorteners On:

Already using RedChirp and ready to get started? Go to your Main Menu > Organization Settings > Branded Link Shortener > Settings. Click (+) to add a new Branded Short Host.

The host can be anything you want! We recommend you keep it short and as close as possible to your brand name. Then choose one of the domains we’ve worked with the carriers to warm up and trust: text-us.co, clktxt.com, clk4.wine, or txt4.wine. Which one you choose is just your personal preference.

Once this is set up, all your URLs will be remade to start with your host.domain/short-unique-code. Example: redrock.txt4.wine/5lfqKvgg

You’re welcome to create more than one Branded Short Host. The default host will be used in all 1:1 text messages, but you’ll be able to select which host you use in each bulk message.
