Arconvert Presents Innovation & Inspiration – Part 5 Klimt FSC and Couture White FSC

image

The new collection of Manter self-adhesive papers produced by Arconvert offers unexplored creative possibilities for premium labels thanks to Arconvert new technologies, unique textures and appealing colors.

Creativity is the beating heart of the new Arconvert Innovation & Inspiration catalog, for, through inspiration and innovation, creativity has always been the basis of every development process. Dedicated to the most innovative and inspired minds of our time, such as, for example, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk or Banksy, this new catalog looks forward both in terms of technology and aesthetics.

Despite nowadays’ many forms of communication, labels continue to be the most powerful tool for brands that want to leave an indelible mark on consumers’ mind, starting from the first glance on the shelf. Designed by Stefano Torregrossa, brilliant and multitalented art director of O,nice! Design studio, the labels celebrate some of the most inventive minds of our time. The labels are small works of art printed in Bolzano by La Commerciale Borgogno.

The fifth article dedicated to this collection reveals two of the beautiful uncoated papers included in the “Innovation” section of the catalogue, Klimt FSCTM and Couture White FSCTM.

Klimt is an uncoated felt-marked paper made with FSC™ certified and elemental chlorine free (ECF) pulp fibers. Finely coated using metallic pigments with gold dominant, Klimt appears as a natural but at the same time sophisticated paper, perfect for many premium labelling applications, especially in the luxury industry. The one-of-a-kind gold finish of this paper clearly recalls Gustav Klimt’s beautiful paintings making it the ideal paper for labels featuring a vintage design winking at “Art Déco” style. Combined with Arconvert’s permanent acrylic adhesive SH-9020™ this precious self-adhesive paper provides a perfect label adhesion to the bottle.

The label created especially for this facestock celebrates Zaha Hadid, an Iraqi-British architect widely regarded as the greatest female architect in the world today. She was the first woman to be awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2004 and the Royal Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2015. The Guardian London newspaper defined her as the "Queen of the curve", who "liberated architectural geometry, giving it a whole new expressive identity". Her major works include the aquatic center for the London 2012 Olympics, Michigan State University's Broad Art Museum in the US, the MAXXI Museum in Rome, the Guangzhou Opera House and the Beijing Daxing International Airport. The label dedicated to this incredible woman features a fictional Syrah, the typical grape variety from Persia. The Farsi word printed in the middle of the label means “wine” and the burgundy decoration all around recalls the geometric damask patterns, that in the Islamic culture and architecture, rather than being merely decorative are believed to be the bridge to the spiritual realm, the instrument to purify the mind and the soul. Moreover, the logo shape reminds us of one of the most famous buildings by Hadid.

The second uncoated paper of this article is Couture White, made of FSC™ certified pure elemental chlorine free (ECF) wood-free pulp. Its special embossed texture features an elegant fabric effect for which the paper owes its name to and embodies Coco Chanel’s fabrics selection for her Summer suits. Couture White also showcases super whiteness and high printability making it perfect for luxury products labels. Combined with Arconvert’s permanent acrylic adhesive SH9020™ this ductile self-adhesive paper provides a perfect label adhesion to the bottle.

The background story here is a story of redemption, dedicated, as for the first label mentioned above, to a strong woman able to reach unimaginable results. Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel was a French fashion designer founder and namesake of the Chanel brand.

She has been credited with liberating women from the constraints of the "corseted silhouette" and popularising a sporty, casual chic as the feminine standard of style, in the post-World War I era. Chanel was a prolific fashion creator and she extended her influence beyond couture clothing, also realizing her design aesthetic in jewelry, handbags and fragrances. She is the only fashion designer listed on Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century. This label is a tribute to Chanel N. 5, a worldwide iconic perfume. This new, imaginary version of the fragrance maintains the emblematic “number 5” as if it was fictionally produced in France and selected by Gabrielle herself. Mademoiselle’s label epitomises the minimalist and timeless style of Coco in the clean, elegant lines of the design.
