NAPA, CA - WINEGLASS MARKETING, LLC announced today that Kristyn Dunlap had joined the firm to direct and lead the account services group. Dunlap is a seasoned marketing and advertising leader with over 20 years of U.S. and global experience. She has spent the last three years consulting for brands and agencies large and small, both in client service and as a brand and content strategist.
"Last year forced everyone to up their game," explains WGM President Susan DeMatei. "We are responding by strengthening our account discipline by bringing in big city talent to help drive our client's businesses."
"Our clients are now competing in the online retail space at a national and international scale," DeMatei continued. "The game has changed, and the pressure is on. Why order wine from the winery when Instacart will deliver wine in an hour? It is important to recognize the new set of rules and strategize how to keep competitive in the digital landscape."
Dunlap is the first of several new hires DeMatei is adding in 2021 to elevate the experience of the firm. Dunlap’s role at WineGlass Marketing is to train and lead the Account, Analytics, and Media Buying teams. Previously, Dunlap was Senior Vice President at MullenLowe, serving on the Executive Team of their Los Angeles office and running several of their key accounts, including Patrón Spirits Company and California Avocados. Before MullenLowe, Dunlap drove strategy and lead account management at Goodness Mfg. and the Los Angeles office of digital agency Deep Focus. As one of Goodness Mfg. 's first employees, Dunlap helped build the agency and acted as account lead on most of the agency's brands during her seven years there, including Toshiba, Google, and Westfield. At Deep Focus, Dunlap ran the Neutrogena U.S. + global digital and social business and was responsible for team staffing, performance, development, and morale, resulting in the agency's highest retention rate.
After starting her career at a creative boutique in the Midwest, Dunlap gained much of her agency best practices training during her nearly five years at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, where she oversaw creative development and production for IKEA, Miller Lite, Miller High Life, and Best Buy.
Currently, Dunlap will be working remotely in Los Angeles with a plan to move to Napa post-Covid. A passionate oenophile, Kristyn has received the WSET Level 2-Wine certification and is currently working toward her CSW. And, when she's not spending her weekends working in the tasting room at Riverbench Vineyard and Winery in Santa Maria, CA, she's planning her next wine country adventure.
