This week’s blog is a continuation of the blog I posted last week about how many grapes are grown in an acre of land and once made, how much wine is contained in a barrel, a case, and a glass. Pass this information along to your guests on your letterhead so they may impress their friends with their knowledge or use it at a fun game at parties.
Last week, I shared with you the number of grapes that an acre of land will generally yield as well as how much wine (in gallons, bottles, and glasses) one barrel of wine will hold.
Today we look at the stats of one case of wine and one bottle of wine.
One case of wine contains:
One bottle of wine contains:
You can have lots of fun with this information. Ask questions about what amounts of wine a barrel, or case, or bottle of wine contain when guests are at the bar.
You may also use these facts as a game at a wine club party with prizes for those who have the right answers. If you want to give out fewer prizes, give a prize to the first person who comes up with the right answer. Although the more prizes you can give the happier your guests will be.
The prizes can be as simple as a corkscrew, or a free tasting next time they come in or a gift item you are discontinuing.
It is a fun and clever way to make your guests feel as if they belong. Which usually results in them buying more wine.
A tip of the glass from me to you!

Other Seminars & Training
Staff and management training should be as integral a part of the operation of a successful winery as using the very best grapes and producing top notch wines. Yet, despite its iymportance, it is the component of business operations that is most easily and most often ignored. In fact, it is frequently not recognized as a component of successful business operations at all.
E (as she is known) presents seminars and workshops on a variety of marketing and sales subjects to wineries and winery associations throughout North America. She is a featured speaker at Wineries Unlimited and presents regularly at state and province conferences working across the US and Canada.
In Short was started as a direct marketing company in 1994 and added workshops and seminars to the mix in 1997. Elizabeth's dynamic and humorous speaking style has made her a popular and busy speaker both in and out of the wine industry.
