Promoting Your Events

What are you doing to make sure your wines and winery have top-of-the-mind awareness with your customers in particular and also in getting to other groups of people who would become customers if only they knew about your winery and your great wines?

Like everyone these days, your customers and the others who are interested in your wines but haven’t got around to visiting you yet, have plenty to keep them busy. If you do not provide top-of-mind awareness of your great wines, your wine clubs, and special events, your customers and would-be customers are probably not going to go looking for these things. They have plenty to think about in their own lives. Your job is to keep them informed about what is going on in your winery and how visiting the winery will be to their benefit.

Do not assume that if you send out a newsletter that talks about an upcoming special event or wine sale that the people on your mailing list will necessarily remember. Like you, your customers are usually busy, so do your best to remind them in different ways (via email, regular mail, and over the phone) about upcoming events and sales that are on the agenda for the next three to six months. Remind the people who subscribe to your mailing list to put your events on their calendar and, if you are limiting the number of people that can attend to make their reservation or buy their tickets early, as you are expecting to sell out.

Your customers will appreciate your reminders as most of them have busy lives and they may well be disappointed if they miss the opportunity to enjoy your hospitality, taste, and most importantly, buy your wonderful wines.
