Lucky Clover Packaging - Riding Out the COVID-19 Coronavirus

We are in this together.

Good Afternoon,

This is not intended to be "another Coronavirus email" to give some piece-meal explanation of what we are doing to prevent the spread of communicable diseases like COVID-19. In short, we are adhering to the best practices as outlined by the CDC, OSHA, and our respective states’ Departments of Health (Read on below for further explanation of what measures we are taking).

The main reason we are reaching out today is to let you know that we are here for you – and that is because of you, our customers. These are unprecedented times and we want to do everything in our power to help you weather this storm as best as we can.

With multiple states shuttering establishments and taprooms that are the lifeblood of your sales, we recognize that your only option for cash flow today may be to-go/curbside sales and/or your distribution channels. Cans are a natural fit to help maximize those limitations.

Here is how we can provide some relief:

  1. If you are a sleeved can customer and have printed sleeve inventory at either of our locations and would like to get as many cans sleeved and sent out as possible, let's talk. For the next two months, we are waiving our Less-Than-Minimum Order Quantity fees for in-house sleeved inventory and cutting our MOQ requirement in half for new
sleeved can orders (e.g. 5 layers for 12 oz standards and 4 layers for 16 oz standards). We commit to accommodating as many of these requests as our inventory and production schedules will allow. We will extend this policy change as long as necessary until the brewing community at-large has returned to normal operations.
  2. If you have any immediate packaging material needs, let’s talk - brites with PSLs / ends / case trays / PakTechs. We're not looking to create a proverbial "run on toilet paper" here, but we do want to provide what we can and we know that being in the craft beverage community, you will take what you need and leave enough behind for others. We're also not in the business of price-gouging and our prices remain the same today as they were prior to COVID-19.
  3. If you have an existing order already in with us, please know that we are working fervently to keep everything on schedule and will get it out to you with all the usual quality and care that you've come to rely on us for.

Now, a bit about the measures that we are taking at our plants to help ensure that our teams are safely handling your orders:

  1. We have conducted company-wide training to reinforce best practices for hand-washing and sanitization, as well as conducted annual refresher training on our internal standards and adherence expectations for current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) for food manufacturing facilities.
  2. We have ensured sufficient supply of PPE for our Operations team which includes articles like bouffant caps, beard nets, safety glasses, ear protection and nitrile gloves.
  3. We are maintaining regularly occurring deep-cleaning of all packaging equipment per PM schedules, with increased focus on frequent sanitizing high-touch points.
  4. We have inspected and replaced steam filters per PM schedules to ensure we are adhering to our internal standard of ‘culinary-grade steam’.
  5. We are introducing ‘Wellness Checkpoints’ at each of our plants to provide our team with the means and opportunity to check their temperature for self-monitoring and team monitoring.
  6. We are requiring team members with ANY combination or individual of symptoms of COVID-19 or the seasonal flu to stay home and follow the government guidelines for screening / further testing.

As of today, our can-making and print label partners are working without interruption, and we are not experiencing any abnormal delays in procurement. We are also operating as normal, until directed otherwise by local authorities.

If you have any questions or inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you in advance for your patience and tenacity during these turbulent times.

Regards,
Luis Duma, President

About

We know how expensive it is to hit large minimum orders for printed cans, not to mention the space they take up in your brewery. Because we work with small-batch producers all over the country, we’ve negotiated best possible pricing with our suppliers – which we pass on to you. Lucky Clover Packaging saves you time and money with our fast turnaround time of just weeks after your artwork is approved. Our dedicated team will work with your graphic designer to get your artwork approved and labels delivered to us. We’ll apply your labels to blank cans in-house and ship the finished cans to you. Don’t have a graphic designer? No problem! We can recommend a few.

We stock blank Sleek®cans and Standard cans in a variety of sizes (no inventory shortage here!), crowlers, case trays, and Paktech handles in 4, 6, 8 or 12 packs in 25 different colors to match your branding.
