Atascadero, CA: Vineyard Team announces their 2024 events, including 6 in-person Tailgate meetings and the Sustainable Ag Expo.
Tailgate meetings are in-person educational events (field demonstrations and discussions) where attendees visit a property and hear from experts and growers on a given topic. Topics range from irrigation and pest management, to soil health, and safety training. Growers have the opportunity to join the conversation and talk directly with presenters to learn how to adopt sustainable farming practices in their vineyards. Plus, many Tailgates include DPR and CCA continuing education hours.
New this year, Vineyard Team and Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance (PRWCA) will be co-hosting a half-day seminar on sustainable energy for the wine industry. At Power Up: Sustainable Energy for the Wine Industry, attendees will hear practical discussions focused on the energy use of vineyard and winery operations, efficiency, cost, and the future. Experts will discuss topics in three sessions: (1) Energy costs and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA); (2) Energy resiliency; and (3) Leveraging sustainability. A 30-minute coffee social and hour-lunch provide ample networking time. Vineyard Team and PRWCA Members have access to discounted tickets for this event.
The Sustainable Ag Expo is a multi-day educational conference that brings together researchers and growers so attendees can earn continuing education hours and improve their business, all while connecting with peers and agriculture companies. This year, the event will be held at the Madonna Inn Expo Center November 12 and 13th, 2024. Enjoy the perfect blend of in-person and online learning with live seminars at the event and several courses available online. Ticket options include one- and two-day passes; Vineyard Team Members receive a discount on their tickets.

What started as a small grower group’s desire to educate and guide themselves towards sustainable winegrowing practices has become Vineyard Team, an internationally recognized leader in the sustainability movement.
Since 1994, the 501(c)-3 non-profit has served its membership of farmers, winemakers, and industry partners by creating an educational network with the leadership of its staff and board of directors to help growers save resources and money, all while cultivating valuable relationships.
Vineyard Team will identify and promote the most environmentally safe, viticulturally and economically sustainable farming methods while maintaining or improving the quality and flavor of wine grapes.
The Team will be a model for wine grape growers and will promote the public trust of stewardship for natural resources.
Demonstration projects help growers learn about new management techniques, successfully adopt new practices, and minimize risk.
Staff, technical advisors (University of California Cooperative Extension/university professors), and growers collaborate to implement specific practices and share the results with the winegrowing community.
