Supply Chain Update | Summer 2026 Navigating an Uncertain Global Supply Chain For the wine industry, supply chain planning continues to require far more than simply placing purchase orders. Trade policy, geopolitical events, freight markets, and domestic manufacturing capacity are all changing rapidly—and those changes directly impact cost, availability, and lead times. At West Coast Glass & Packaging Group, our role is to help wineries stay ahead of those changes so they can remain focused on making and selling great wine. Trade Policy Continues to Evolve One of the biggest developments this summer is the U.S. Trade Representative's proposed Section 301 tariff actions targeting imports over forced labor enforcement concerns. While implementation is still under review, the proposals have already caused importers to reassess sourcing strategies and inventory planning. For wineries, this reinforces the importance of working with suppliers that understand both domestic and internation

There’s a quiet shift happening in tasting rooms right now, and it’s costing wineries more than they realize. A guest walks in. The experience is warm, engaging, and thoughtful. The wines are poured with care. There’s connection, conversation, even enthusiasm. And then… nothing. No mention of the wine club. No invitation to continue the relationship. No next step. Recent WISE Mystery Shopping data tells a clear story: the industry isn’t getting “less pushy,” it’s getting quieter. In Q1 (January – March), our mystery shopping revealed that staff effectively presenting wine club dropped from a 2025 average of 35% down to just 13%. That’s not a subtle dip. That’s a behavioral shift. When did hospitality get so quiet? What We’re Hearing from Teams When we talk to tasting room teams, the intention is clear – and it’s a good one. “I don’t want to sound pushy.” “Guests will join if they want to.” “It feels salesy to bring it up.” This isn’t about lack of care. It’s a misunderstanding of what

A couple comes into the tasting room on a sunny Saturday. They have a great visit. They buy a few bottles. They ask a few good questions. Maybe they mention they’ve been there before. Maybe they seem like a perfect club fit. Maybe they say, “We’ll definitely order again.” And then the day keeps moving. Another group walks in. Someone needs help at checkout. A club question comes up. An event is coming next week. By the end of the day, that promising customer moment is already gone. More traffic feels good — and it is good — but only if your system helps you turn that traffic into something lasting. Because the real opportunity is not just the sale in front of you. It’s everything that should happen next: 6 Questions to help you get started Did your team capture the right customer information? Can you easily see what they purchased? Can you follow up later with the right message? Can you identify who should be invited to join the club? Can your tasting room, club, and onli

Reporting should tell you what to do next Most platforms offer reports. What wineries often struggle with is turning those reports into action. Common challenges we hear: Reports live separately from CRM Insights don’t translate into marketing or follow-up Financial data requires manual reconciliation Teams still rely on spreadsheets to connect the dots That’s where platforms begin to feel limiting. Activ8 Commerce reporting is built to be actionable. Sales, club activity, customer behavior, and eCommerce data all live in one system — so reporting connects directly to CRM, marketing, and operations. What that enables: Identify high-value or at-risk customers act on them immediately See which channels drive club growth target smarter campaigns Understand performance across POS, clubs, eCommerce, and Shopify without stitching data together And because Activ8 integrates directly with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, financial reporting stays aligned too —
