We Are Very Excited to Announce the launch of Our New Patented CPCS System

Patented CPCS system, built to recover difficult to concentrate solids.

CPCS is a patented technology available only from STS:

  1. A proprietary disk-type centrifuge design with novel internal solids phase flow paths.
  2. STS’s own unique process control mechanisms and process control logic.

CPCS was developed to meet the needs of customers with unique solid phases that will not separate and concentrate reliably using decanters or conventional disk stack centrifuges.

CPCS uses a low-shear liquid hermetic feed & high-speed ejection system. The novel CPCS Separating Disk design & related methods achieves a breakthrough in clarifying streams with high feed-solids contents, at extremely high flow rates & discharging in extremely concentrated form.

This includes products with solids that have a strong tendency to cake &/or agglomerate into thick chunks, such as yeasts, fruit pulps, fining clays & insoluble proteins.

What are the advantages of CPCS?

  1. Capable of processing elevated levels of in-feed solids (2-45%v/v) without loss of flow rate or outlet clarity.
  2. Propriety control system automatically adjusts CPCS solids to targeted values.
  3. Control of carry over of solids into clarified liquid as needed, for example High/Med/Low/No pulp in citrus processing.
  4. Capability to de-sludge if needed unlike nozzle type centrifuges.
  5. Coarse/caking solids can be processed without blocking seen on nozzle type centrifuges.

Winemaking has changed significantly over the years, both in terms of the techniques used and in terms of technological and scientific advances. Some of the more notable changes include:

Improvements in viticulture: Over time, grape varieties have been developed that are more resistant to pests and diseases, as well as more efficient cultivation techniques that have allowed for greater production and quality of wine.

Advances in oenology: Oenology, which is the science and technique of making wine, has experienced great advances in recent years. New fermentation, aging and bottling techniques have been developed that have improved the quality and organoleptic characteristics of the wine.

Greater scientific knowledge: Over time, greater scientific knowledge has been acquired about the processes that occur during winemaking, which has allowed greater control and precision in the process.

Greater diversity of wines: Over time, new grape varieties have been developed and production techniques have been improved, allowing for a greater diversity of wines on the market.

Use of technology: Technology has had a huge impact on winemaking. Specific machinery and equipment for winemaking have been developed, such as centrifuges, which have improved the efficiency and precision of the process. In addition, analytical and sensor technology is used to control fermentation and aging conditions.

The current process of winemaking

Winemaking is a complex process that involves several stages, and one of them is the separation of liquid from solid substances. An essential tool in this process is the centrifugal machine, which works through centrifugal force, which is a force that is generated by rotating an object around a central axis. This force tends to move heavier objects away from the central axis, and to move lighter objects closer.

In the case of winemaking, this translates into the separation of the clean liquid from the sediment or impurities. The centrifugal machine has a storage tank, where the must or wine is placed together with the sediment. The tank is then placed inside the machine and the rotation mechanism is activated. As the machine rotates, the heavier substances accumulate at the bottom of the tank, while the clean liquid remains at the top.

Once the spinning process is complete, the drain valve at the bottom of the tank can be opened and the sediment emptied. The clean liquid can be collected in a separate container to continue the fermentation and aging process of the wine. The centrifugal machine is an essential tool in the current production of wine, since it allows to efficiently separate the clean liquid from the sediment or impurities. Additionally, this process is faster and more precise than traditional decanting methods, saving time and effort in winemaking.

Benefits of using a centrifuge in winemaking

There are several benefits to using a centrifuge in winemaking:

Greater efficiency in the separation of the clean liquid from the sediment: The centrifugal force generated by the machine is much more powerful than traditional decanting methods, which makes it possible to efficiently separate the clean liquid from the sediment or impurities in a much shorter time.

Greater precision: The centrifuge machine allows greater control over the separation process, which increases the precision in obtaining clean liquid.

Saving time and effort: By using a centrifuge, the separation process is much faster and requires less physical effort than traditional methods.

Improvement in the quality of the wine: By using a centrifuge, a more complete and precise separation of impurities and sediments is achieved, which improves the final quality of the wine.

Cost Savings: By using a centrifuge, you reduce the time and effort required to separate the clean liquid from the sediment, thus lowering your winemaking costs.

In short, using a centrifuge in winemaking allows you to efficiently separate the clean liquid from the sediment, increases the precision of the process, reduces the time and effort required, improves the final quality of the wine, and reduces production costs.
